Lexington
I spent four months in Lexington in 1993. I drank bourbon. I did not accept a permanent transfer to Lexington because it seemed to me to have all the disadvantages of city life without the cultural advantages of more liberal cities.

The Kentucky Horse Park on the north side of town is a very nice museum.

Louisville
The museum at Churchill Downs is cool. I liked the video library machine that let you play back any Kentucky Derby race ever filmed. The display on photo finishes and finish line slit cameras was cool too.

Bardstown
Home of a lot of distilleries, Bardstown has a neat whiskey museum.

Natural Bridge State Park
It was quite a hike up to the natural bridge but well worth it. The views were great. The bridge is large and you can walk across the top.
